1 The concept
The programme is for eco people who:
Have already taken their way to an ecological life and activity, which are close to nature and harmless to the environment in terms of both their habitat or globally;
They are ready to share their big and small eco achievements, and to help as experts those who want to learn from them;
They are willing to learn from the eco experiences and achievements of others.
Sharing of eco-practices
They share aspects of eco-living such as home, energy, housekeeping, organic garden and food, self-defence, eco-materials and raw materials, etc.. Yks share their own experiences and good practices, whenever possible. They illustrate them with their own models; for example a way of eco-electrification - with the one in the Yk's house.
The sharing takes place first through introduction projects developed by Yks; they are introductory creative projects presenting the eco-practice, possibly with some instruction. The intro-projects include text plus video, photo gallery and audio. They should stick to some YKY rules on duration, content and presentation as shown in the table Creative Projects Feedback Criteria.
In a YKY-programme, the intro may be needed either once or each week, respectively for each theme of the systematised programme of themes (sysprothem). Whether there will be a sysprothem depends on the practice shared, the methodology chosen by Yk and the agreement in the YKY-group.
Yks prepare their sysprothems and introductory projects mostly before and at the beginning of a YKY-programme. Their intro-projects are among the possible sources for independent research by learners on their chosen project topics.
YK-school assists Yks in developing their intro-projects in any way, starting from organising free webinars to co-authoring intro-projects.
Yk's direct commitments in a YKY-week take about 6 hours on average and include:
Giving clarifications and additional instructions at the group workshop on Day 3, if needed and requested;
Giving feedback on each completed project by filling out eforms;
At the request of Yk: either presence at the group’s Project presentations or watching the recorded Presentations aftermaths, on Days 6 and 7, in both cases with giving feedback through eForms.
Learning
Creative project work is also the main learning method at YKY. Learners develop projects weekly sticking to the YKY rules on project duration, content and presentation (similar to those shown in Creative Projects Feedback Criteria table).
